It was highly recommended to me to mulch the pumpkin plants in our Ca.
heat....this supposedly cools the ground and stabilizes the soil
temp.......keeps it moist ...and soft....Is there anyone out there in
pumpkinland that has tried mulching?????? Sounds good to me I have noticed
waves of roots coming to the surface...... with a little mulch action they
may be protected and spread.......another test.....ahhh!
An organic farmer told me that i should try "hoof and horn meal " its slow
release nitro. but most of all gophers don't like it......sounds like
another test I'll give anything to repel those little mothers especially
pocket gophers................i tried the leak style but the neighbors
started complaining......that i had gone over........the edge.........Mr.
