The list should be a composite of the wishes & desires of everyone, solidified,
collectively, by the list owner. Duncan has very successfully achieved this. By
the dissention & unpleasantness, we are depriving him of the well deserved
pleasure & pride he took in the list.

The list is both a fun & learning experience, & needs to reflect both aspects
of this avocation. Without this balance, we run the risk of become either too
serious or too relaxed in attitude.

By taking this controversy too seriously, we are accomplishing two very
undesireable things which could well end in the list's demise. First, we are
increasing  the exasperation & frustration of the list owner, to a point where
he appears to just about have had it with all of this. You can figure his next
step for yourself. The other thing we are accomplishing is alienating some very
nice people from both factions, who have also had with allthe controversy, &
are leaving the list.

People, for Heaven's sake. The list contains interesting content for both
sides. We are all adult enolugh to pick & choose what we wish. The digest form
will help those of you who want to pick & choose. But please don't destroy the
list for everyone, or drive Duncan to dump the list.

I love you all. Let's just go back to enjoying our mutual love of pumpkins in
all forms, formats & topics; serious & otherwise.
