Chris Anderson's soil

Ron,

I pull my hair out trying to understand all this but these levels seem to
be flexible and more interelated ....looking at one area that seems high
doesn't necessarily mean it is toxic ......I tried to do what you are doing
look at Chris' soil and compare...i have his test numbers but the bottom
line is all soils are different ....

My test comes back and it says that i am at 2049 Ca. and that i am high in
Ca.....so you figure 4000 must be out of whack or toxic.....Chris'
Ca......was 6791.........  they say my sulfur SO4-s was VH at 37....Chris'
was 1825........now to add to the confusion as the soil warms these numbers
will change a little.............So i tried to ask what is
toxic?.........its not necessarily fixed...........what your shooting for
is get a soil test that has a bar graph and put most the levels in the VH
or H level so that everything is balanced or you can draw a straight line
across the top of the bars.........brock


P.S it is my understand that if you go above 10% OM than you are inviting
dessease and soil bugs you don't want.....you may just drop into 9 at
planting time which should be just right.............Theres always
exceptions to the rule......a friend lost an 775 grown in 1.3 organic
matter...he must have met the plants needs from foliars .......and liquid
fert......all so interesting!!
