Re: Light for pumpkins
The light factor is complicated and hard to explain, I have written a
paper concerning this, and put it in a fairly understandable form. It
is on my web page near the bottom, with no title, there is just words.
Give it a read, I would love to hear input from everyone concerning
this, and any results that have been experienced. I have done some
work, and results were: Gave extra day length to my weakest looking
plant resulted in 638 (my best official and had virtually no internal
cracking). Gave similar treatment to a 941 Eaton plant that germinated
slow, but the plant looked to be vigorous, resulted in a plant spanning
60 ft. by mid June, and nice set rapidly growing fruit, but lost the
plant to disease, who knows. This is an interesting topic, and could be
a big help to some southerners, but does take some effort. Check out
