Sevin is quite effective on cucumber beetles, but not effective on Squash
bugs or borers. Methoxychlor is moderately effective on juvenile squash

borers and good on cucumber beetles. Asana will do well on all 3. Asana is
apx 135 bucks a gallon and requires a permit to buy it. For the non
commercial farmer (backyard gardener) ...Methoxychlor is probably the way to
 go at the moment.

OK,here's a question for all the veteran growers out there. How effective
is/was chlordane on the borers? I have an original unopened bottle. I am
interested in older grower's experience with this now unavailable often
mis-used product. What i'm not interested in is a litany on how pesticides
are all bad...or I'll bring out the DDT............thanks....
