Ducks and moose
It's cold and wet in Vermont.
I put six plants outside last Sunday. The temperature hasn't gotten over 60
since.
I have them in mini greenhouses but I am still not seeing much growth. I
think they
will really take off once the sun decides to come out again.
How wet is it????
Friday night I looked out on the lawn and there was a pair of mallards out
there.
They walked right straight over to the pumpkin patch and would have gone in
but
I had some plastic sheeting laid out and it must have scared them. You
would
think I live in a swamp, but my house is on the top of a hill and it is
usually dry as
bone up here.
Today I got my lawn tractor stuck while I was mowing the lawn.....
That's about the time I decided to take a break. I went through the
woods and gathered a five gallon pail full of moose poop (and a little from
white-tailed deer).
Tonight I dug it in around two of my plants......If walking a mile and a
half through the woods flicking
moose droppings into a pail with a stick doesn't impress the pumpkin gods
then I don't know
what will.
I may not be crazy from growing 'em
but I am crazy about growing 'em!!!!
