850 Hester

When checking the growth of my plants the other day, I
noticed that the primary vine of my most vigorous
plant, my 850 Hester, is flat vining from the base of
the plant on. There are double leaves and secondarys
forming at each junction and the last junction is a
triple.

I've posted a close-up photo of the flat vine at this
address:

I have a 937 Mombert growing right next to the Hester
which is growing slower but otherwise looks healthy.

My question is it worth it trying to save the Hester?
It kills me losing this plant. I have to make a
decision soon on which plant to keep since they are
starting to crowd each other. Any advice?

thanks,

diana
