It does work for keeping the raptors from the chickens. It also keeps the
in-laws from the beer fridge. OK, not the latter.

Kathie,

When I was in the greenhouse business, my grower use to a screen up between 
the vent and the range.  It was made of a silvery aluminum type material. 
We notice a decrease in pest pressure particularly with thrip.  My grower 
told me that the insects would fly up to the screen and when they saw 
themselves they flew away because of fright.  Not sure I can prove or 
disapprove his theory.
