my seed grew out upside down

Hello, i planted a seed in a peat pot and it grew upside down! Well, after
about 3 days, the roots popped out and the leaves were sort of buried in the
soil. Why did this happen? Today, I was thinking of CAREFULLY taking it out
and flipping it over. Will this damage it? 
My other seeds are fine and growing like little monsters.
