Jeff,
Floating row covers may be used for a variety of things. These include
frost protection, insect protection, wind protection, sun
screen...............
The trade names vary, I am using on my plant shelters a material called
Agrofabric, but other names often include Remay.
Density and light transmittance will range from as low as 0.3 oz and 90%
light transmittance to heavier material at 1.5 oz and 50% light
transmittance.
I am using 0.5 oz material with 85% light transmittance for wind and insect
protection.
