Greetings
I've been out of the pumpkin game for several years, but with five and
two year old boys, its time to have something for October. I have long
wanted to grow large pumpkins, but as its been a few years and I have no
soil to start with. This year will be geared up to establishing my
pumpkin patch. My question is -and please, if this has be brought up so
many times that it makes your skin crawl, please e-mail me direct- what
should my soil composition be (peat, vermiculite, manure, etc.)
considering I have to start from scratch (its taken me four years to
literally build my vegie garden soil and I have non to spare). I only
plan on raising a few plants this year in raised open bottomed boxes. So
my next question is, what should those dimensions be and how many plants
per box? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Lawrence
