N. Tewksbury, MA about 25 miles Northwest of Boston in the Merrimack River
Valley.
Planted 4/13/98 in prepared mounds, method used is the Direct Start Method
combined with the Compost Feeding Method listed on Dan’s Page with pictures.

Planted 10 seeds in the first mound AG-480-97-GB a AG-553-92-GB child crossed
with AG-717-91-MM, (Mike MacDonald) and AG-798-95-PNZ, (Zehr).
80% germination in 5 days (broke ground).
Thinned to 3 plants this week. Largest plant has 3 true leaves, the largest
leaf being 9" x 10."
Planted one seed each in the second mound.
Greer 1006 Germinated in 4 days (broke ground), very vigorous.
It has 4 true leaves, largest leaf is 7" x 8."
Anderson 977 Germinated in 7 days (broke ground).
Mutated will be pulled this weekend.
Plants are still in the first stages of the Direct start method with the
window on the top. They have done very well in even with temps as low as 27.
