Actually, if a plant is left to be, and run naturally, it tends to run
in a southwesterly fashion. The reason this is, because it follows the
sun as the day progresses, and wants to be as near it as possible, so it
kinda chases it as it goes over head on a daily basis.
While that is what "naturally" happens, you can direct the vine to any
direction you so desire, being sure not to move it more than 1- 2 inches
daily...
