They stole my baby !!!!

Would you believe it? I mean - after all this time our star pumpkin has
been on show in the Council foyer. Our Appleyard 332, second place
getter in our national competition has been admired by the citizenry of
our fair town. Many moons it has been there for all to admire - which
they did so with glowing terms devoid of columny.

So what happened?

I went away, thats what. I mean I havn't been away for ages and when the
chance to go to a conference in Wellington came up, I was off and away
(if you want to know anything about Cryptosperosis Parvum you only have
to ask - any 'pool people' out there?).

The dill brains decided to get rid of the great pumpkin while I was
away. My baby was ripped from my spiritual being and there was a
shifting in the force that not even a Wizard could repair. AND they sent
it to the local dump with NO thought of saving any seed. Can you bloo#@
well believe it. After all season of me telling them what I was going to
do with the seed for their own good.

Well pickle me !!

Francis Bacon, 17th Century good guy once said that "nature was often
surpressed but never extuinguished".

The local dump closes this month - for good. There will be 18 inches of
top soil put over as a final cover. Deep down are myriads of Appleyard
332 seeds just waiting.............................................
