Re: Roots coming out peat pot


A bit more to the debate;

I used the peat pot for germination ( I don't use the ziplock method)
because of its ability to stay moist. Once the plant has sufaced, I
transplanted to 12" plastic pots (the type that comes with small trees and
shrubs at the garden center). These pots are made of very soft plastic and
are easy to cut up.

I place the pot in the hole, remove the bottom, then fill the hole around
the pot. Then I cut the pot fromn the bottom up. The pot is now easily
removed with practically no root disturbance.
