If you want to keep the growth rate up with the temperatures your having you
will have to put up a cloche or cover the plant with remay. Here in the
northwest
we finally broke the 80ºF mark on Sunday for the first time this year.
We've only
had a handful of days in the 70s to this point. The only way to get much
from the
plants in our cool wet conditions is to create a microclimate around them
that is
warmer and drier than our natural springtime environment. With the heat
yesterday
and today my cloches are down but they'll go back up tonight as the forecast
is
calling for a return to highs in the mid 60s and possible showers for the
remainder
of the week.
