Maybe the selfing will increase the color, shape ect. but I really
believe it hurts size & is this not what we are hunting for in this sport. How many
selfed has grown big ones.?????

There are many examples out there that prove that selfing has and does work (size, shape AND color). Here are a few examples that prove it. This info was taken from the AGGC database and contains only 900+ fruit that grew from a selfed seed.

I think its safe to say that selfing works. Might or might not be the best route (not for me to make that call), but definitely a good and proven alternative. It does work.
