I had the same experience with the 946.5 Geerts .. evidence that the
plant's robustness and problem-free pumpkin growth are genetic
characteristics. The 946.5 was a Geerts #559 : Veens 824.5 cross. I
wonder if those desirable traits were present in the previous generation?
