Re: eternal growth ?


  I say plant that famous Mombert seed in a climate that wont freeze and
promote alternate roots at the leaf/stem areas.When the weather warms in
spring,cut the vine in half and go stumpless.(see Carlsons).You'll have a jump
on everyone and a continuous supply of selfed momberts.The old leaves will be
gone,the roots will be closer to the fruit,and the plant will be tricked into
reproducing pumpkins.As the plant travels southward,year after year,you can
till behind it and plant cover crops.....when it reaches the end of the
property,train it to go north into the previously tilled and covercropped
section--instant crop rotation!WAIT,it gets better-do the same for all
mains.....now you can go in all directions! No more post-pumpkin blues!Non-
stop fun!I think Barb and Tim (Fla. people) should try this and report back
the results.
