Concerning Gary Burke's Sale of seeds.
I think it is great that Gary is willing to share the 100 seeds that he is
able to keep from his pumpkin and for $13.50 US I think it's quite an
opportunity for around 60 purchasers to get seeds from the largest ever
pumpkin in the world. Better get your order in soon because they may
already be gone.
From what I've been researching the shape, wall thickness, and skin
characteristics of his Giant Pumpkin 1092 are very very desirable. Also the
fact that it was self pollinated is also quite desirable as this does
increase likelihood of similar fruit. I'm slowly getting the answers to
this genetics stuff and find it quite interesting. So far most of the
explanations I've seen are too simplistic and just don't cut it. Will keep
you informed.
