pumpkin pie


hey everybody, got a question.  how come pure pak pumpkin from a can, which is
100% pumpkin and nothing else looks so much more orange then when i try to make
a pie from an actual pumpkin?  whenever i've used canned and added my own
ingredients it always looked like your typical pumpkin pie.  But whenever i've
used a pumpkin itself and made a pie its always so much lighter in color?  i'm
using pie type pumpkins, what's the deal?
