I would cover the pumpkin with an old sleeping bag and then a tarp over
this.  This will also keep the cold wind off it along the way. Place a
pellet board under your pumpkin so you can tie your tarp to it. I used this
last year in freezing cold wheather and it worked great. Good Luck in
