California rain
Its raining steadily here in the Sacramento region for the first time in
about 8 months. We have had a few sprinkles between then and now, but
nothing that could be measured it simply evaporated as soon as it hit
the ground. Now? Smooth, steady rain. Today is the second day of rain
we have had in the past four days. Its kind of relaxing. For the
longest time, the Sierra foothills where I live have been dry and gold
colored; covered with dead grass. The hills are going to turn green
again! And for a while, the area will resemble the green hills of
Ireland!
Its nice to wake up in the morning, pour a cup of coffee, and sit by the
window, watching it fall as the sun comes up. Thank God for rain. You
never realize how much you like it/want it/need it until its been gone
for a long time.
