Hi Dave,
Thanks for the response. If I have seed from a 1000lb+ pumpkin, and only
happen to grow a 200lb pumpkin, does the seed from the 200lb pumpkin still
have the capability to grow past the 1000lb mark as good as the seed from the
1000lb pumpkin?
Of course it does. It's just a matter of the right growing conditions.
If so, I'll have some seed that I can share as well. I
bought it from P and P from a really good pumpkin--I'll have to check which
seed I bought b/c I forget. I'd like to try all kinds of different seed
crosses though b/c I'll have plenty of space and better health this upcoming
season.
Watch out though. You will need a 30-40ft diameter circle or so for
each plant or
plant them closer together and guide the vines where you want them.
Mine were about
10ft apart this year and I also had two plants on the same hill. They
were all over each other
at the end. The two on the same hill grew the biggest ones. Funny
about that.
