Re: Kuhn seeds requests

Alan, Thank you for the reply, and for explaining the KUHN history. It is
very interesting, and I would be tickled pink to attempt to grow a KUHN 607.
I will send you a self addressed stamped bubble pack and patiently await it's
return. Does anyone recommend a book I could purchase that specializes in
growing the KUHN or Mombart? I intend to spend the winter gearing up for the
May planting, and since this year, my first year out was a total wash {except
for my accidental store bought pumpkin size crop} I will definitely need a
good reference book to help me prepare for the second year. Thank you again
and it is still an exciting time in the pumpkin patch! {smile}

I grew a 614 from the Kuhn 607 which was on the same plant as his 929.4.
Going into late summer, I was 6 1/2 inches over his same day from pollination
records before my patch suffered heavy powdery mildew I believe this shut
down
my plant and stopped me from attaining his poundage. If you or anyone else
would like a seed, from my 614, send a self address stamped bubble envelope
 to:

                  Alan Reynolds
                  P.O.Box 681
                  Durham, CT. 06422
Just a note to all interested. The seeds have not been harvested yet and the
seeds must be allowed to dry. Please be patient the seeds will be sent as
 soon as possible.

P.S. Al Eaton, Yes, the Reynolds 614 was from the Kuhn 607 X Self

The Kuhn 607 was from the 567 Mombart X Open.

P.S. Karri, Mr. Kuhn is from New Hampshire he grew the 929.4 and the 607 in
1997. The 929.4 is the largest pumpkin ever grown directly from the famous
 567 Mombart.
