Re: correction on Elkgrove, california GPC results

Brock,

Ok Ok what can I say I admit I was a little frantic yesterday. We had
67 official entries at our site compared to last years 23. I was totally
overwhelmed by the California growers that competed at the Elk Grove GPC
site. We were also thrilled to be chosen as California's official site.
It got even better when we weighed in Pete Glasier's 791lb pumpkin and
then had the largest squash at our GPC site weighing in at 684.5 lb
grown by Bob Troy of Torrance, CA.

A special THANK YOU to you, Mike, for carving those wonderful pumpkins.
As usual it is one of the biggest hits for our spectators as well as all
the growers. I still can't figure out how you do it but all I can say is
your art work is fantastic.

Sharon says she is sorry to have kicked your boottie by that 1/2 pound,
we're glad you didn't use that spray bottle to keep them moist. This is
the first time we have ever placed in the top 5 in a GPC event and are
very fortunate because of the difficulties we had with the extreme
weather changes in California this year.

Jon
