Re: Mosaic Question

Scott-didd both plants have the virus? When did the virus show up?It is my
understanding that late season virus will not affect the mostly developed
fruit and since your probably pruning the vines,it wont make a big difference
w/the new growth.
I posted very early in the season about the virus-but concluded that it was
Methoxychlor damage on the new growth-no problems untilllate August. The
pumpkins show no signs of the virus.(i'm gonna blame the virus for my first
year's stunted growth-418lbs and 319on a late season pollinated fruit anyway!)
The biggest problem I've had is I have no seed to offer to growers. Many of
the fine people on this list have been generous-very fine people-and I refuse
to spread the possibility of the disease without full knoweledge of the
virus,so I haven't been giving seed out....(not that the seed from mine are
really good, but lots of locals have asked and first timers too).
I also don't know the fate of my patch/neighborhood for the next years...Am I
destined to get it next year and maybe thereafter...?A real good garden
cleanup is definitely in order.....whats next? Anyone with suggestions?
