HAPPY TO BE A PUMPKIN GUARDIAN
HI TO ALL LIST MEMBERS
As most of you may know i was forced into giving up growing Giant Pumpkins as
a result of loosing my Pumpkin Patch earlier this year. I do however have a
wonderful 628 Lb Pumpkin sitting in my yard that belongs to my very good
friend Alun Jones from Liverpool.
Alun's 628 won 2nd place at the Greyhound Pumpkin Club Weigh-Off on October
2nd and he has left it here with me to look after it until we take it to
another Competition in Essex near London on October 17th.
Having the 628 in my yard brings back happy memories of when i grew such
wonderful orange or cream coloured orbs that made me feel proud to have such
an unusual and challenging hobby/interest. I uncover the 628 in the mornings,
stand and admire Alun for all the hard work that he put into growing the
Pumpkin and reflect on times past.
I have not lost my passion for wanting to grow more Giant Pumpkins and i have
a few plans in mind for next growing season but for the moment i am happy to
be a Pumpkin Guardian.
That's my cents worth for now.
