I grew a G.LLoyd 935 seed in 98....I ended up with a 516.9
pumpkin...self pollinated.
Does my 516.9 seed still have the potential to grow to the 935....or is
it now a 516 limit?
I believe the 516 would have been much bigger if not for the storm
damage I received....that year.
I grew the 516.9 seed this year....with the full intentions of cross
pollinating it....But I ended up pollinating before any of the other
members had flowers...they could share...so once again it was self
pollinated...My oversite....I had ground heaters and a greenhouse....to
get a coulpe of weeks jump on the club....My results were
323.5.....99....and again storm damage...2 tornado touchdowns in our
area this year.
I still have a bunch of 516.9 self pollinated seeds...is it fruitless
for me to continue to try and cross pollinate these 516.'s.....The 516
had extremly thick walls ...a flat bottom.....measured 288''..and
weighed in at 516.9...with the storm damage.
thanks for any in-put...
Deborah
