"Left outside"? Uh, I think it would have to be more specific than that. ALL
pumpkins are "left outside" to GROW! Do they mean after they are ripened, for
an extended period of time? In what conditions?
The scientific term for rotting is "decomposing", and that would be the FINAL
thing that would "happen" to it, before it could no longer be considered a
pumpkin.
If they meanafter it is cut off the vine and left out to harded, it could be
"curing".
I don't know the question is too vague.
