Mark....why pay for them? There are plenty of generous growers on this list
(and not on this list) with free seeds for the asking. The best genetics are
available and helpful hints too..and you'll probably make a lifetime grower
friend at the same time. Get yourself some bubblepack envelopes and a few 55
cent stamps and a few brown clasp envelopes to put the self addressed stamped
bubblepack envelopes(SASBPE is the lingo) in and sit tight for a month or
two. The results come in starting in late September and they're usually all
carved up by Nov.first. Add a few weeks for drying of the seeds and the seed
swap/trade/giveaway begins ! People will post to the list that seeds are
available for SASBPE's and they'll post the address to send bubblepack to. If
your in the States and sending requests to Canada, since Canadian postage
isn't available here, they will likely request 1-2 dollars to cover postage.
Some will just request 2-3 bucks and your address and they'll send out the
seeds with thier own bubblepack......the trick is to make it easy on the
person giving away seeds...because it is time consuming and somewhat tedious
to put'm in those little envelopes with labels etc....
I've seen free seeds available through <A
HREF="http://www.bigpumpkins.com/">BigPumpkins.com Home Page</A> ,How to get
free seeds at <A HREF="http://www.pgpga.com/">PGPGA Home on the Web</A> ,
and many other growers web pages. Join your regional pumpkin growers
association and they usually have a seed distribution plan. I believe Joel
Hollands videos come with free seeds( <A
HREF="http://www.eskimo.com/~mcalpin/holland.html">Holland's Land 'O' Giants</
A>) as does Don Langevin's How to Grow World Class Pumpkins 1 and 2 when
purchased through Don (ANNEDAWN@aol.com)....there's bijillions of them just
waiting to be grown, for the cost of postage,so stay tuned, and get your
bubblepacks ready !......G
