The earthquake up in Napa seemed to shake the
goddesses of the patch awake. Athena, the mighty,
packed on 18 more pounds last night at the venerable
old age of 66 days. A few more shakes and I'll never
get her out of the patch without some heavy equipment.
Hera is so huge and unruly that I'm afraid to measure
her. My tape's not big enough to get around her fat
ass anyway. So I just leave her alone. A few more
days without water and she'll beg for mercy.
Aphrodite is so into her good looks that she's dieting
all the time. She even turns up her pretty nose to
fish emulsion and kelp. I've never seen such a
finicky eater. She just crossed 600 pounds making her
the skinniest goddess in the patch. But, I don't
mind, something that beautiful doesn't need a lot of
heft to turn heads and get attention.
