Mike : I must disagree; Your assessment is sending the wrong message, date means nothing, different
parts of world has different growing seasons, so that allows for different weigh off, times. BUT all the
participants in a certain area must play on a level playing field which means, a window to grow in, wouldn't
it be nice if we could grow until a day before blowup, weigh it & claim the best. You got it wrong, that's not the
way it is, when it becomes this, we can do away with weigh off's & then it becomes who ever can bull shit the
best. Is that what you want ?????
Wow you sound like me a few weeks ago. Woooow big fella.
Let me tell you how it is... Yes you can get yourself in the Book of Records as long as the fruit is solid and it weighs a bunch. But would it qualify for the biggest and the best by our standards (maybe not). All people are telling you is that to be the best in our contests and hold a position as growing the biggest at the contest and Winning the Money! I don't think it would be too smart to pick a pumpkin that may win you several thousand dollars just to say I had the biggest, thenwhen the biggest of the big show up to see who is king that day, yours is rotton or you loose because it lost weight.
