Tim You are so right.
The only reason to fill the split is if it goes inside. Thanks Tim! I totally
agree about drying the stem out. I tend to use bleech and water and clean
everything to get the lose junk off. Then dry it and put a little funguside on
the crack to keep it from going deeper. The fan is a great idea. Caking
funguside will not help it dry either will calk.
