A California Patch Update - Baby Beluga Comes Up for Air

Rumors abound of monstrous pumpkins lurking in various patches
around the planet. No rumors here... nothing's happening, no
way... not this year...

There have been some sightings, however, in the Yin and Yang
patch. Something large breaks the surface and then disappears
leaving only a ripple in the green waves. The locals are
talking and cars drive slowly by hoping to catch a glimpse...

I was wondering myself what all the commotion was about when
one day I saw Baby Beluga (1230 Daletas) come up for air. Then
I knew. She is getting.... well, rather large.... But this is
no monster - nothing to fear, just a small white whale.

She's still adding layers of blubber though and should pull her
own weight when she surfaces at Half Moon Bay. She's a bit too
slippery to get a tape around so we won't be talkin' any
numbers.... heh heh.

I've put some pictures of recent sightings at the following
link:

My other plant (831 Zunino) intends to set a record this year.
I've grown 17 pumpkins on this 800 square foot plant. Most are
between 200 and 300 pounds. All are pretty, very orange, nice
ribbing with long yellow handles. Total estimated weight is
2,411 pounds for the first 13 with 4 still growing.

More on this later when the numbers are all in...

Best of luck at the weigh offs for all.
