Sorry for the news.
You might want to try some "insulating foam sealant". Comes in a spray can
with a spray tube. You can squirt it right into the holes and the foam will
expand to fill the space. Good luck.
PS. I had to use it on my Dill Award speciman this year too. It's still up,
