Re: cool night

Yes, keep it as dry as possible, wether it is growing or not. A diluted bleach
wash can help keep bacteria from attacking it from the outside, if you know it
will dry afterwards. If you think it might be growing, keep he blanket on at
night. Good Luck!

Alan, should I still keep the tarp and curtains on it with out a blanket at
ight if it stopped growing? It is very damp here and didn't know if the
ampness would cause a problem. I am having a hard time determining if it is
till growing since it might be a pound a day and that could be human error.

have noticed that there seems to be two different schools of thought
egarding
hether to keep your pumpkin warm at night or not. One post I read said it is
tter to keep it cool at night (not cover unless frost) since it will help
eserve it, much like a refrigerator. The other is to keep it warm. What is
e thoughts from the list?
have tarps over the pumpkins, supported by poles, and I cover them with
ankets at night and wrap a curtain of tarps around the whole thing. I also
e the curtains if it rains to keep it all dry. So far there has been minimal
isture on the blankets in the mornings. If I don't use the curtains, the
ankets will be quite wet in the mornings. I don't know what them temps get
wn to in the enclosure. I have 2 weeks to the weigh-off and want to keep it
althy, although I think it has stopped growing.
