Regarding the gentleman that lost the 1000 pounder last week, does
anyone know if he ever weighed it? I know
having our season's best weighed at an "official" weigh-off site is
ultimately the goal for many of us. However, if Mother Nature takes our
pride and joy a little sooner than anticipated, does that render our
accomplishment null and void? If I had a potential 1000 pounder in my
patch sitting at the brink of self-destruction, I would gather a few
buddies, load that baby into the pickup, and head for the closest scale
I could find. I don't think I could stand not knowing EXACTLY what it
weighed. Also, wouldn't such a pumpkin still be eligible for world
record status regardless of where it was weighed?
