Paul,
Sometimes a question like yours that really needs an answer gets lost in
the babble about patents, seed requests, and methods for mutating
pumpkins. You probably already know this by now, your pumpkin is a
goner. How large was it? Mine have been doing this all summer at up
to 50" in circumference. Good luck in getting one to stay on the vine.
