Thanks for the advise...I may try the tiny knotch idea in the
main vine, and the captan, which is legal in this state. I
haven't watered it for a week (we have gotten some rain).
Unfortunately, Wyoming doesn't have an official pumpkin weigh
site, but I plan to leave the pumpkin on the vine until the
weather looks bad. We take it to a local feed store that has
an accurate scale and weigh them there. Deer have starting
migrating down and found a periphery pumpkin to gnaw on
(about a 225 pound pumpkin there!). As long as they keep
interested in that one, I'll sacrifice it for the 'big' one.
