Lost and Nearly Abandoned

To all concerned:

I'm totally new to this pumpkin business. Can't even call myself a
"widow" since I can lay no official claim to either the man or the
pumpkins. But I've been hanging out with this guy for a bit over 8
months and can say a few things. In the beginning... we used to have
discourse on a variety of subjects: jobs, kids, life and the way of the
world. We travelled to exotic places without mention of large orange
globes. We became pretty close...I think. Then May rolled around and
blindsided me without me even realizing what was happening. I even
participated in my own demise. I even, God knows, showed interest in the
planting of the cute little plants. Then this otherwise interested,
caring man gradually became a demon. Pumpkins have permeated to his very
core until he now oozes pumpkin juice as he walks. Vines sprout from his
mouth as he talks. Pesticides, fertilizer and misters form an
impenetrable barrier around him. I watch from a distance and hope by the
end of October he remembers my name.
Dear Pumkin Growers and those who live with them..I need HELP!!!...Please
advise on how to maintain this relationship before all is lost........

 signed, lost and nearly abandoned.
