Why do my Ipomea tricolor seedlings look so bad?

I have started seeds of several Ipomea tricolor varieties, and they are all
very pale (some white) and will not thrive. The plants sown directly into
the pots look as bad as the transplanted ones. I wonder if it is still too
cold for them (they are in a covered greenhouse that gets quite warm during
the daytime, but cools off at night)?
I wonder what your experience has been?
