The only bloomsI have in Kalamazoo in early April are wind flowers and
the quite remarkable heads of petasites japonicus. One wonders what
possible pollinator could be active this time of year! Is petasites
self fertile? It is supposed to be a spreader-but not in my soil. Shady
Oaks Nursery in Minnesota lists the plant as suitable for dry places but
I find the plant droops after a few days without rain or water. Anyone
had experience in growing this plantfrom seed?
