Marilyn,
My thought was to air layer because I have at least seen it done before.
Although if I think about it a little I suppose I have seen ground layering
naturally.  If you dont think it would survive the winter, if started in the
spring what do you think the chances I would have enough root developed by
the fall to successfully plant?
