I'm trying hydroponics for the first time this winter in my greenhouse
and you can grow tomatoes easily using a number of items including
gravel, perlite and rockwool. The problem I seem to have is even though
the plants grow well they did not start developing fruit until mid
february probable because I use no additional lighting and we've had a
very rainy winter here in GA. I think you will find hydroponic
equipment to be very exspensive to get espeacially if there are no
retailers in you area shipping is horrible. I found a couple good books
on it and just created my own unit for about $50.00 using items I could
get at home depot. Even though the tomatoes are slow in coming I've
picked peppers, squash and cucumbers all winter
good luck jim navigatr@tiger.avana.net
