Introduction

My name is Judy Showers, I live in South Central Pennsylvania, USDA zone 
6 and PA is one of the mid-atlantic states.  My climate is "variable," 
especially in the last few years.  I can remember when I was a child, 
the summers were hot & the winters were cold & snowy but not overly so. 
 The last few years, I have seen very hot summers (100 deg. F), and very 
cold winters,(-18 deg. F.),  Drought in summer to lots of snow (3-4 
feet) in winter.  I guess this is all due to the greenhouse effect and 
the ozone layer.  I am age 53, married, no children to me but my husband 
has 2 to his 1st wife.  We own & operate a television & satellite 
business(called Carlisle Radio & TV Co) a used furniture business(called 
J & W Used Furniture) and a hobby craft business(called Showers of 
Buttons).  For recreation, I have an attached 10' X 22' greenhouse that 
my husband built for me about 5 years ago.  I also have a 7' X 11' pond. 
 I really enjoy growing exotic & tropical plants, and especially from 
seeds, so you might hear some questions from me, should I run into 
difficulty.  I am a member of the Hobby Greenhouse Association, also the 
local chapter, and am on their discussion group on the net. I am on so 
many discussion groups on the net, it keeps me busy reading them when I 
get time, but a lot of times, I don't & the email piles up.  Glad to 
meet all of you & learn about your seed-starting ventures.
