Re: sowing in plastic bags

I had tried the plasticbag/moist paper towel with excellent results so far,
but heres a thought to ponder: what about using the seed sprouter that is
sold for edible sprouts (Johnny's Catalog has a nice one on the back cover
this year called the bioset) to sprout seed you are going to plant,
especially ones that *need* light to germinate? I'm just guessing, but using
a smaller volume of seed would help avoid the root tangling, or you could use
with a high volume for the seeds you were just going to presoak for 24 hrs
before planting. Seems like this is potentially a ready made tool to provide
the right light and moisture requirements, and having it serve double duty
for kitchen and yard is an appealing thought to an old cheapskate like
me...(The catalog price is $10.50,it has 3 trays for different kinds of seed
if you want, and it looks nice &no, I am not affiliated with Johnnys except
as a satisfied customer.)What are your thoughts?
