Others may respond later with more direct experince with growing iris form
seed. In the meantime take a look at Park Seeds take on iris seed and
growing culture. Growing iris can require patience and can be difficult
according to printed references I have. All very interesting because some of
my Siberian iris self-seed regularly in the garden.

Ellen Powell, in From Seeds to Bloom, suggests that Iris kaemferi be
refrigerated for 5 weeks and then sown at a temp of 60-70F. No mention
soaking or scarification. For all other varieties, she recommends handling
in a manner similar to Park – only she would have you soak the seeds for 24
hours just before planting.
Another source to check out germination times and conditions is:

Less info on irises but has many species listed if you want basic, quickie
info.
