Pre-chiling for 14 days after soaking and before sowing is also beneficial but not essential. Surface sow the seed onto John Innes Seed Compost or a good free draining peat/sand mix and do not exclude light which is beneficial to germination. When large enough to handle, transplant the seedlings into 3in pots and plunge in a cold frame for 12 months.
