Re: seed storage

I keep my seeds in paper envelopes inside larger paper envelopes inside plastic boxes originally designed for note cards. This is all kept in a room of my home where there is relatively little temperature fluctuation. I have a fairly large number of species, but most of them are small seeded flowers, and not too many of any one type, so the envelopes are not bulky. I try to use the seeds within 3 years of harvest for most species.

I just got a copy of Susan Ashworth's book, Seed to Seed. It gives storage and collection information for a large number of vegetables, and having just skimmed through it so far, I think it is well worth the $20.
